Donnarumma wants to extend PSG contract

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is keen to extend his contract beyond the end of next season, despite interest from other big clubs across Europe.

The Italian goalkeeper’s current contract runs until June 2026, with both parties keen to extend it. 

But if it doesn’t work out, the club will have to find a way to let the ‘Azzurri’ captain move this summer while he is still available, with Manchester United and Manchester City keeping a close eye on him.

“My first priority is to stay at Paris Saint-Germain and sign a new contract,” he said after beating Moldova 2-0 in the 2026 World Cup European qualifiers. 

“I don’t think there will be any obstacles or problems.”

Donnarumma arrived in the French capital from AC Milan five years ago as a free agent but talks over a new deal have stalled despite the willingness from both parties to continue together.

PSG, through their sporting director Luis Campos, want the goalkeeper to stay and will resume negotiations with his camp. But sources say they have also lined up Lucas Chevalier, excellent all season with Lille and now France’s No. 2, as a replacement.
